In an industry where only 17% of senior academic positions are held by women, Aisling believes that 'Aim for the Stars' has given an important morale boost to woman trying to pursue a career in science. Aisling applied for a scholarship to attend the fourth International Symposium on the Ocean in a High C02 World and complete a statistics course, which provided the opportunity to network with others who live and breath ‘all things ocean related’ and learn new skills that will benefit her for years to come.

Em's is a university student, a geographer and anthropologist, a social activist and the founder of the Ethical Living Challenge. The Ethical Living Challenge is an initiative designed to engage and inspire young people on global issues.
