Name: Sharleen Stratton
Aim for the Stars 2012 London Squad Sharleen started diving in 2000 when she was 12 and made her first International Junior competition in 2002. She competed in open international events in 2005 and attended the World Championships. After letting her nerves get to her at this event and not competing as well as she’d hoped she returned from this competition with a determination to never let doubt get in the way again. Since that event Sharleen has represented Australia on numerous occasions including the 2006 Commonwealth Games, 2008 Olympics and the recent 2010 Commonwealth Games where she won a gold medal in the 3 metre and a silver medal in the 1 metre synchro. Achieving these results would not have been possible without self – belief and confidence. Each year Sharleen gains more competition experience and a harder list of dives to compare with the best in the world. Her ultimate goal is to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games.
