What is your dream?
It is my dream to provide the best care and intervention to individuals with neuro-developmental
disorders, in particular, to families who live in regional/remote areas. To address this need, it is my
plan to complete a Masters program and qualify as a Clinical Psychologist. I plan to obtain high
quality placements in hospitals and services directed at atypical development across the lifespan.
How did you find your passion?
I became passionate about working with individuals with neuro-developmental disorders (Autism,
Fragile X, Williams syndrome) during my undergraduate degree in Psychology. I then completed an
Honours thesis investigating anxiety in persons with Williams syndrome. I was inspired by the
individuals and families I had the pleasure of meeting and plan to complete further clinical work and
research in this area.
Tell us about your dreams / goals for the next 12 months?
My goal for the next 12 months is to complete the first year of my Master of Clinical Psychology. I
also look forward to developing my clinical and research skills in my role as a Research Assistant in a
neuro-imaging project investigating social anxiety in groups with and without neuro-developmental
How will the scholarship support your endeavours?
The scholarship will support me financially with the costs of study, and the mentor program will
support me in achieving my goals.
Career highlight or biggest achievement?
My career highlight so far was completing my Honours thesis. It provided me with the opportunity to
experience working with a clinical group and showed me how much I enjoy hands on work and

How important is inspiration in your life?
Inspiration is very important to me, both personally and professionally. I actively seek out
relationships and learning opportunities which inspire and challenge me and enhance my own
Who’s your hero (and why)?
Be your own hero. I think its great to take inspiration from those around you, but equally important
to look inside yourself and see that we all are amazing and have a lot to offer. By believing in
ourselves we encourage others to believe in themselves too.
How will you support your community in the future?
I plan to spend the next few years learning and experiencing as much as I can to become the best
practitioner I can be. I hope to be of service and support to many families and individuals I will work
with in the future.
