Pursuit: I have been selected to attend the Secondary CSSA National Athletics event in 2013, and am looking forward to competing at this event.
Hi. My name is Princess Daniels, and I was born in Ghana in 1999. My parent’s are from Liberia, but fled to a refugee camp in Ghana due to civil war. I was born there. In 2006, I was fortunate to come to Australia, and am now an Australian citizen.
I started running when I was 9 years old, and enjoy competing in the 100m and 200m events.
When did you start?
I started running at Little Athletics when I was 9 years old.
Career highlight or biggest achievement?
Finishing second in the 100 metres final at the NSW PSSA state titles in 2010 and 2011 and representing my state.
What is your dream?
To be the best I can be at athletics and to enjoy my life.
Who or what have inspired you?
My heroes - Martin Luther King and Carmelita Jeter.
Who's your hero?
I have two. They are Martin Luther King and Carmelita Jeter.
Any other special talents?
I really like hip hop dancing and I play a little hockey.
My favourite two songs are I Am and Lean On Me - both by Kirk Franklin
I love the movie Soul Surfer – it is an inspiring story about the life of a surfer who loses her arm in a shark attack.

Favourite TV Show?
I don't watch TV very often, so I don't really have one.
I really like pizza, and I am still getting used to Vegemite.
How the grant will help you/how will you use the money?
I will use the money to travel to national competitions, to buy uniforms, equipment and to generally improve my running. Without your help I would not have been able to do all these things so thank you vey much.
