Name: Emily Little
My name is Emily Little, I am twenty years old and I was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. When I was young I watched the 200 Sydney Olympics on TV, that when I was inspired to become an Olympian. I fell in love with gymnastics and when I was seven I was selected to become a part of the WAIS gymnastics program. There has been some tough times and some rewarding times throughout my career. I achieved my dream of competing for Australia at the Olympics at London in 2012. My next pursuit is to become a dual Olympian in Rio de Janeiro and to beat my all-round ranking of 15th.

I started Gymnastics in 2000 when I was six years old. I started training at my local PCYC in Armadale, shortly after I was chosen to try out or The Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) That’s when my journey to becoming an Olympian began. I started gymnastics because I saw the 2000 Sydney Olympics on TV and I wanted to be just like the amazing gymnastics on the television.

When I was growing up in the gym i always looked up to Allana Slater and Sarah Lauren. They were the two eldest girls in the gym and had been to the Commonwealth games and Olympics. I thought they were amazing and they inspired me to achieve my goals one day, just like they had.
Who's your hero?
I have a high respect for my teammates, especially one of my teammates Larrissa Miller, who despite her hard ships is achieving greatness. My family are my heroes, especially my mum and dad who have done so much for me throughout my life, and have always supported me and my gymnastics career.

I enjoy Olympic lifting and Power lifting. I can dead lift 110 kgs which is about twice my body weight.

I love pretty much all food. Asian cuisine, smoothies and chocolate would probably be my favourites, but it’s hard to choose.

I find it hard to work while I'm training, I don't have enough time during the day and I travel away a lot so it makes it hard to keep a job.
