Name: Caitlin Wood
Caitlin is 15 years old and races karts professionally. Her ultimate dream is to one day be the first Australian female Formula 1 driver or V8 Supercar Champion. Motorsport is extremely expensive and extremely competitive – it is a difficult sport to excel in. The Aim for the Stars grant will help Caitlin with travel around Australia to compete at the different rounds to achieve her goal of qualifying to compete in the Rotax World Finale. This is the first step of many towards her journey of becoming a Formula 1 test driver.

I had my first practise day on my 7th birthday
Career highlight or biggest achievement?
Representing Australia in Switzerland at the CIK-FIA International girls shootout. Only 10 of the 52 countries entered were selected.
What is your dream?
I’m aiming high for Formula 1 but would be excited to make it in a V8 Supercar team.

How the grant will help you/how will you use the money?
The grant will help me achieve one of my goals of competing at Worlds for karting and help me progress through the higher levels of motorsport.
